Fountain Valley : Police Seek Van That Fatally Struck Man

A Downey man was killed late Saturday when struck while walking along Daisy Avenue near Maple Street by a vehicle that fled the scene, police said.
Michael Lee Bernier, 30, was hit by an old, dark-colored van about 10 p.m., Sgt. James Brokaw said. Bernier, a former Fountain Valley resident, was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, Brokaw said.
Police were searching for the van on Sunday.
