Highest Peak

Referring to the fine article (Aug. 9), “France Gives a Hero His Due for First Conquest of Europe’s Highest Peak,” I find a misstatement in the term “highest.” The author is speaking of Mt. Blanc, whereas the highest peak in Europe is Mt. Elbrus in the Caucasus of the Soviet Union.
