Five Sentenced to Prison in Missile Silo Break-Ins

KANSAS CITY — Five peace activists convicted of breaking into two nuclear missile silos in a Good Friday protest were sentenced Friday to prison terms ranging from seven to eight years.
U.S. District Judge Elmo Hunter also fined them $50 each, ordered restitution totaling $4,617.81 to the federal government and placed them on probation for five years. They had faced maximum penalties of 15 years and $500,000 in fines.
