Kyocera Corp. may establish a San Diego factory.

The Japanese firm, a producer of special ceramics used in semiconductors, said the major factor behind the Kyoto-based company’s possible decision to invest in San Diego was California’s abolition last month of the state’s unitary tax system, Asa Jonishi, a Kyocera adviser and board director, told a news conference.
