A supersonic Concorde jetliner returned to London after a brief visit to Ontario International Airport, leaving behind several thousand disappointed would-be spectators. The Concorde had been scheduled to arrive about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and 4,000 people had paid $5 apiece for prime spots to watch. But mechanical problems forced the needle-nosed airliner to return to London, where the crew switched to another Concorde. The delay caused the jetliner to land after dark--unseen by most--to pick up 100 passengers for a $7,500-a-ticket tour, including a return voyage to New York on the liner Queen Elizabeth II.
