Florida State football player Ed Clark, who was with teammate Pablo Lopez when he was fatally shot, was expelled, a university spokesman said.

University spokesman Rod Wenzel said Clark had lost an appeal to the school’s disciplinary board that last month had ordered Clark’s expulsion.

Lopez was shot and killed during an argument outside a campus dance on the night of Sept. 13. A Tallahassee man, Byron C. Johnson, 20, was charged with the killing.
