A Logan Heights man accused of fatally shooting a 10-year-old girl while he was target shooting was ordered Thursday to stand trial for involuntary manslaughter.
Jose Maldonado Ruiz, 45, was bound over to Superior Court after a preliminary hearing by San Diego Municipal Court Judge H. Ronald Domnitz.
An arraignment was scheduled for Oct. 23 and Maldonado was ordered held on $50,000 bail in County Jail.
Sonia Cano was shot Sept. 27 in an alley behind Maldonado’s house.
