We read with dismay that there is some question of our remaining at the Music Center after 1987 (“Music Center Opera’s Man in Constant Motion,” by John Voland, Oct. 5).
We are currently working on repertoire through the fall of 1987 and have begun plans on a full evening production of “The Nutcracker” for 1988, to be premiered in Los Angeles. Gerald Arpino, our associate director, is continuing his preparation for the Los Angeles ballet commissioned by Mayor Tom Bradley.
The Joffrey Ballet has made a firm and dedicated commitment to Los Angeles as the resident dance company of the Music Center of Los Angeles County and the Music Center has confirmed its commitment to us.
