A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy, on his way to work, died after his motorcycle slammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer rig. Edward Levy Jr., 22, was northbound on Van Buren Boulevard in Pedley when the truck pulled out in front of him, California Highway Patrol Officer John Anderson said. The accident occurred about two miles from Levy’s home, in an unincorporated area of northwest Riverside County.
