A government worker who was injured by a pipe bomb concealed in a basket of dry flowers delivered to her San Francisco office desk said the accused bomber and her estranged husband had been homosexual lovers for years. “They told me about it,” Melanie Pilaski, 41, said in an interview in the San Francisco Chronicle. She was released from a hospital last week after treatment for burns and a broken finger suffered in the Nov. 17 explosion. Shaun Jerome Small, 27, is jailed on charges of having the bomb delivered to Pilaski’s office. She is employed by the U.S. General Services Administration. Her husband, Peter Kurt von Pilaski, who was visiting West Germany when the bombing occurred, has not been charged in the case and denies any involvement.
