ORANGE COUNTY PREP BASKETBALL : Girls’ Roundup : Lovely Scores 29 Points and Gets 17 Rebounds to Pace Kennedy

Senior Ursula Lovely scored 29 points and had 17 rebounds to lead Kennedy High School to a 61-45 Empire League victory over El Dorado Friday night at Placentia.
Lovely, who scored 30 Tuesday, was 14 of 23 from the floor.
Julie Cooper led El Dorado (0-2) with 21 points. Deena Masumiya had 10 for Kennedy.
In other league action:
Los Alamitos 60, Loara 29--Jennifer Ensley scored 17 points and had 15 rebounds for the Griffins at Loara.
Kelly Moore scored 14 and had 5 assists and teammate Diane Sands had 11 points and had 13 rebounds for Los Alamitos.
Kim Yoshioko scored 10 points for the Saxons (0-2, 1-5).
Esperanza 48, Cypress 35--Laura Jones scored 20 points and Karen Davidson 10 to pace the Aztecs (2-0, 6-2).
Liz Crosdale scored 11 points and Stacie Kosaka 10 for Cypress (0-2).
In the Garden Grove Tournament:
Magnolia 61, Whittier Christian 50--Katie Donica scored 20 points, Dawne Borum 18 and Rena Rossoll 17 for the Sentinels (5-1) who will play El Toro for fifth place Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
In the Bolsa Grande Tournament:
Bolsa Grande 42, Laguna Hills 28--Caroline Matney scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds and Dorene Day added 12 points for the Matadors (5-1). Bolsa Grande advances to one semifinal against Santa Ana Valley at 8 tonight.
Santa Ana Valley 52, Newport Harbor 41--Sharon Murrell scored 21 points and Susan Hatchett 20 as the Falcons (4-1) advanced to the semifinals. Murrell made 7 of 9 free throws. Jennifer Stucker scored 14 for the Sailors.
Sunny Hills 49, Rancho Alamitos 8--The Vaqueros didn’t score in the first quarter and scored only two points in the second and third.
Canyon 40, Trabuco Hills 33--Pam Kratz scored 14 points for Comanches (2-0).
In nonleague:
Buena Park 52, Santiago 36--Felicia Benjamins scored 18 points to lead the Coyotes.
Buena Park (5-4) also got 11 points from Kelly Hilliard and 10 points from Cheryl Harada. Buena Park led 17-16 at halftime.
Fullerton 61, El Modena 41--Heidi Shikuma scored 20 points to lead the Indians (5-4) at home. Vicky Silva scored 16 points and had 18 rebounds for Fullerton.
Laguna Beach 41, Saddleback 22--Felicia Chalmers scored 18 points for the Artists (3-2).
In the Orange Lutheran Tournament:
Orange Lutheran 44, Canyon Springs 24--Michelle Boltz scored 16 points to lead Orange Lutheran into a championship final tonight against Head-Royce. Becky Darby of Canyon Springs led all scorers with 18.
Head-Royce 56, Rio Hondo 31--Karen White had 20 points for Head-Royce’s winning effort in the championship final. Corinne Wickstrom scored 9 points for Rio Hondo.
