After viewing parts of ABC’s “Amerika” miniseries, Ted Turner labeled it “redneck” and decided to broadcast “Beyond Fear,” a series of programs stressing world peace, he said Wednesday. “Amerika” will make Americans more fearful of Soviets, he said, and its plot is unrealistic. “An invasion or takeover by either side seems inconceivable to me,” Turner said. Countering the ABC show’s message, his plans for WTBS Atlanta include airing a Soviet film on life after a nuclear war and a documentary on the perceptions Americans and Soviets have of each other. The Turner programs won’t run opposite any of the ABC show.
