SAWDUST FESTIVAL MAKES DONATIONS

The Sawdust Festival of Laguna Beach has donated $30,000 for student scholarships and upcoming school and community programs in Laguna Beach. The programs include:
- A sum of $11,000 has been given for scholarships for graduating seniors at Laguna Beach High School.
- The Laguna school district will receive $10,000 for improvements in the art departments at Top of the World Elementary School, El Morrow Elementary School, Thurston Middle School and Laguna Beach High School. Another l$2,000 will be given for the school district’s Academics in Music program.
- The Impact Team, an education program on drug abuse and other youth-oriented problems, will receive $1,000.
- The remainder of the money will go to the Laguna Beach Girls Club, Laguna Beach Senior Center and other organizations to be announced.
