Hundreds of demonstrators protested passage by the Concord City Human Relations Commission of a resolution supporting civil rights for homosexuals. “Gays already have the same civil rights as everyone else,” contended Mark Zapatik, who said he spoke for a group called the Traditional Values Coalition. The Rev. Lloyd Mashore of the Concord Christian Center said he would be all for a resolution favoring civil rights for everybody, but that homosexuals should not be singled out.
