The Arizona Board of Regents awarded the first multi-year coaching contract in the history of the state universities to new Arizona football Coach Dick Tomey.
The contract pays the former Hawaii coach $85,000 a year for four years. Previously, only one-year contracts could be awarded.
Tomey replaced Larry Smith, who resigned to become the head coach at USC.
