USC Easily Wins Triangular Track Meet at UCI

USC won a triangular meet at UC Irvine Saturday with 100 points to 72 for UCI and 18 for Cal Poly Pomona.
In a women’s meet, USC’s Diane Clements set a school record of 157-1 in the javelin. She also won the 1,500 meters in 4:20.9 and the 3,000 meters in 9:45.2.
Henry Thomas won both sprints and anchored UCLA’s 400-meter relay team as the Bruins won a triangular track meet at Drake Stadium.
The Bruins scored 118 points to 31 1/2 for Cal State Los Angeles and 28 1/2 for San Diego State. The UCLA women’s team trounced San Diego State, 97-39.
