Huntington Park : Ban on Vendors Proposed
- Share via
The City Council has introduced an ordinance to ban mini-malls, flea markets and swap meets from the city’s commercial zones.
The ordinance is in response to complaints last year from more than 100 merchants along Pacific Boulevard, who asked the council to prohibit multi-vendor operations like the recently opened Pacific Swap Meet.
The council passed a moratorium in December prohibiting further vendor operations while the city studied a permanent ban that would cover the central business district and other commercial zones on State Street, Seville Avenue and Randolph Street.
A public hearing and second reading is scheduled March 16.
