Good offense will meet good defense tonight when Fresno State plays UC Irvine at 7:30 in a PCAA game at the Bren Center.
The Anteaters (13-13, 8-9) are likely to get a spot in the league tournament, thanks in large part to their offense, which ranks second in the conference. UCI averages 86.7 points a game.
Fresno (8-18, 3-12) will not make the postseason tournament, but defense, the trademark of Bulldog teams that has already won two PCAA championships and a National Invitation Tournament championship in the 1980s, is still exceptional. Fresno ranks second in the conference, allowing an average of 63.7 points a game. Fresno is last in offense, however, averaging just 58.1 points.
