MiraCosta Women Eliminate Bakersfield, 79-65

Karen Chariker and Julia Cole each scored 26 points Wednesday night to lead MiraCosta past Bakersfield, 79-65, in the first round of the State Community College Women’s Basketball Tournament at MiraCosta.
MiraCosta (20-4) plays at L.A. Valley College in the second round Friday night at 7:30. Bakersfield, which was led by Lovette Reid’s 16 points, finished 20-9.
