Songwriters Stephen Bishop and David Foster received top honors at the 35th annual BMI Pop Awards. “Separate Lives” won the Most Performed Song of the Year for Bishop, while Foster was named Songwriter of the Year for the second year in a row. He received four awards for the songs “Glory of Love,” “Love Theme From St. Elmo’s Fire,” “Now and Forever (You and Me),” and “St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion).” The awards honored the songs that received the most air play on radio, television and movies in 1986.
