Muslim extremists holding three Americans and an Indian-born U.S. resident said that an “investigation” has revealed their involvement with U.S. and Israeli intelligence services. In a statement delivered to the Beirut newspaper An Nahar, the Islamic Jihad for the Liberation of Palestine said it will “punish” the four Beirut University College professors once the investigation is completed. No other details were given. A photograph of Alann Steen, 47, was attached to the Arabic handwritten statement. Steen, a communications professor, appeared pale and unshaven. He and U.S. professors Robert Polhill, 53, Jesse Turner, 39, and Indian-born Mithileshwar Singh, 60, were kidnaped from the college campus on Jan. 24.
