Milwaukee Buck Coach Don Nelson said Thursday he thinks his best option right now is to become a general manager with a different National Basketball Assn. team next season.
“That seems to be the best idea right now,” Nelson said a day after talking with representatives of the Clippers, New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors.
Nelson, coach of the Bucks for the past 11 years, has made it clear he may want to leave the club because of philosophical differences with owner Herb Kohl. Nelson just completed the second year of a five-year contract with the Bucks.
He expressed the most interest in the general manager positions with either the Knicks or the Warriors.
