Re your printing of David Stein’s commentary, “Hart Passes the Democratic Torch” (May 31), I believe your readers should know that Stein is a comparative newcomer to Orange County, spouting the traditional East Coast liberal philosophy, instilled, no doubt, by his left-wind Ivy League professors.
It should also be pointed out that Stein is the entrepreneur developing our coastline north of Dana Point, not with affordable housing, but hotels, golf courses, restaurants and commercial enterprises.
Is this Stein’s interpretation of his “new” Democrat rather than the old “New Deal” Democrat? If so, I truly am grateful that Gary Hart was forced to drop out of the race for the presidency.
