Primate Pressures

In an otherwise sensitive and insightful article about the thwarted instincts of zoo-born gorillas (“A Mother of Invention,” April 19), William Jordan states that the idea of similar instincts being resident in human beings “drives creationists and some psychologists to fury.” As a creature and a “creationist,” I am least of all furious. In fact, I’m as baffled as Dianne. Have mercy, William, your war is not with me.
