On Friedan and Feminism

On a journalists’ trip to Nicaragua two years ago, I found Betty Friedan to be totally the opposite of the image you presented. She was separatist, unfriendly, uninformed and elitist. As a writer, she was certainly no model for aspiring women. As a human being, she was sadly wanting in those outreach qualities that the women’s movement promotes and cherishes.
