The Reagan Administration will boost its request for money for research and education to battle AIDS during fiscal 1987 and 1988. The new request will add $47 million for fiscal 1987 and $257 million for fiscal 1988, bringing the total in fiscal 1988 to $791 million. Congress is considering two bills that would allocate more than $900 million for AIDS research.
