Imelda, Diana? Knife Settles Beauty Debate

MANILA — A man stabbed and killed his brother and wounded a friend when they failed to agree that former First Lady Imelda Marco is prettier than Princess Diana, the Philippine New Agency reported today.

“Don’t belittle Meldy--she’s still the most beautiful woman in the world,” Gerardo Delmo was quoted as saying before he ran to the kitchen to grab a knife. In the ensuing fight, his brother, Felino Delmo, was killed and Manuel Dacanay was seriously wounded. Gerardo Delmo fled.
