Is Bird the Only One With a Sense of Humor?

Apparently the “Hick from French Lick” is capable of understanding the English language better than most of this country’s sportswriters. Bird said he took no offense at Thomas’ comments. Thomas’ criticism was leveled at the media, the same media which anointed Bird as “simply the best” (see Time magazine), ignores his God-given right to camp in the key, and excessive use of his left elbow.
