Marina del Rey : Marina Foundation Fete Slated

Los Angeles County Sheriff Sherman Block will be master of ceremonies at a dinner for the Marina Foundation on July 18 at the Marina Beach hotel.
Proceeds from the $65-a-plate event will be used to support several of the foundation’s marine-related youth activities, particularly the nautical reference library program. The nonprofit organization also sponsors whale-watching excursions, education scholarships and marine biology classes, and hopes to establish a maritime library and ocean center in Los Angeles County.
