A funeral service for Cerritos High School football player Eric John Stranz will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress.
Stranz, 17, died Saturday when the van he was riding in along with four Cerritos High teammates ran off the highway and rolled over about 20 miles south of Nephi, Utah. The group was returning from a football camp at Brigham Young University.
Three passengers sustained minor injuries and were released from a hospital in Provo earlier this week. They are Jeffrey Duke, 17, Douglas Nelson, 16, and Michael Warren, 17. The driver, Scott Kahale, 17, was scheduled to be released from the hospital Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesman for the Utah Highway Patrol in Orem said the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
