Local News in Brief : Military Recruiting Office Damaged by Fire
- Share via
An electrical fire caused $125,000 in damage Tuesday night to a military recruiting station in Reseda, the Los Angeles City Fire Department reported.
Eight fire companies took less than half an hour to extinguish the blaze shortly after 7 p.m., a Fire Department spokesman said. The fire at 18353 Sherman Way apparently was started by a short circuit in the air-conditioning system of the one-story building, he said.
No one was injured, the spokesman said.
The office opened last September as a recruiting station for the U. S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines, said Army Maj. William Norton.
