Special Lawsuits

Regarding Dennis McDougal’s article about the lawsuits filed by a small recording company against the Special Olympics, A&M; Records et al. (“A ‘Very Special’ Lawsuit,” Oct. 25), are we supposed to believe that someone files a $5-million lawsuit without some very serious grounds?

Your story seemed like a very obvious whitewash, and it seems you’re adding to an already intriguing cover-up. It also seems totally appropriate that an opportunist like Jimmy Iovine should be cozy with the Shrivers, hawking a record that will potentially make even more millions for the already rich Special Olympics.

And what do they really do with all this money? Why don’t you print the whole story about the Orpheum Records guys who filed the suit? That seems much more interesting anyway.
