UCSD Wins Volleyball Invitational

SAN DIEGO — Jennifer Pettigrew had 10 kills Saturday night to lead UC San Diego to a 15-1, 15-6, 15-7 victory over La Verne for the championship of the UCSD Women’s Volleyball Invitational.
Allison Hensleit’s eight kills led UCSD (25-3) to a 15-5, 15-9, 15-6 victory over Claremont-Mudd College in a match Saturday afternoon.
Cal State San Bernardino (30-6) finished second in the round-robin tournament after 3-0 victories over La Verne and Claremont-Mudd Saturday.
Fresno Pacific 3, Point Loma Nazarene College 1--Ana Butz had 21 kills to lead Fresno Pacific to a 9-15, 15-8, 15-13, 15-3 Golden State Athletic Conference win at Point Loma. Lisa VanderFeer had 14 kills for Point Loma Nazarene, which finished its season 11-15 overall and 4-8 in conference.
