San Juan Capistrano : Ancient Ceramic Art Replicas on Exhibit
- Share via
Replicas of ancient Andean and Peruvian ceramics, created by Ramon Landivar, are on display at the Mission San Juan Capistrano museum.
Landivar, a native of Bolivia and now conservator at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, uses methods similar to those practiced by South American ceramists several hundred years ago.
The works will be shown for about three months in the museum’s Rancho Period Room No. 4, director Nicholas Magalousis said.
The exhibit hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The room is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
