Donald Harvey, a former nurse’s aide facing three life terms for killing 25 people in Ohio, pleaded guilty to killing nine patients while working at a hospital in London, Ky., in the early 1970s. Families of several of the victims wept as Harvey, 35, was sentenced to eight life sentences plus 20 years by Laurel Circuit Judge Lewis Hopper. The sentence will run concurrently with the terms he received in Ohio in August for killing 25 people, 21 of them patients at Drake Memorial Hospital in Cincinnati, where he also worked as a nurse’s aide.
