Irvine Beauty and Homeless
Although I am not a resident of Irvine, my son lived there before he graduated from UC Irvine, and I know it to be a geographically lovely area of beautiful homes. But when I read about the protests to housing the homeless (Oct. 29), I realized that this is just a facade.
Apparently, with all the things the residents have, many of them have no beauty in their hearts. To protest so vigorously against the use, by humans, of a refurbishable, unoccupied, posh kennel, makes one wonder what priorities these folks have.
I am pleased with the action taken by the mayor and the council members who voted for the conversion. If the pet owners of Irvine are as concerned about animals as they say they are, they will not miss the space now committed to shelter humans.
