Greek Tour Great
Based on an item in the Tours and Cruises column and an article on Skopelos by Prof. Dick Caldwell of the USC Classics department, we went on a three-week tour of Greece led by Prof. Caldwell in his capacity as director of Sporades Tours (12367 Zig Zag Way, Tustin 92680). To say it was the best trip we ever took is an understatement. We saw most of the historic sites seen by the average tourist and much, much more. Dick was a gracious and knowledgeable tour leader. Imagine going to a ruins site guided by a professor of classics knowledgeable about the site and all the myths and history associated with the site. The trip was unrushed. We spent three days at Parga, five on Skopelos and two on Santorini, all resorts with nice beaches, restaurants and clubs as well as historic sites. Very little time was wasted with coffee breaks or long bus trips.
