Machinists at the General Dynamics Corp. plant in Fort Worth ratified a three-year contract agreement reached by company and union negotiators to avert a possible strike by 10,000 workers. The old contract with the International Assn. of Machinists and Aerospace Workers had been scheduled to expire at midnight Sunday, but negotiators reached accord late Saturday and union members approved the pact. The contract provides for one-time, lump-sum bonuses of 12% of workers’ annual earnings during the first year of the contract.
