Century City : Survey Taken on Shuttle Plan

More than 60% of Century City lawyers who responded to a survey by Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky said they would use a shuttle service between Century City and downtown Los Angeles at least once a week, Yaroslavsky announced this week.
The survey, conducted to determine interest in the service proposed last summer by the Westside councilman, also found that 61% of the 225 respondents would be willing to pay between $5 and $10 for a round-trip ride.
“The response to our survey has been overwhelmingly positive,” Yaroslavsky said in a prepared statement. “It shows that there is a real need in this city for transit alternatives.”
The proposed service, dubbed the L.A. Law Connection, would provide transportation between Century City, which has a high concentration of law and professional offices, to courthouses, government offices and the law library in downtown Los Angeles. It is intended to reduce traffic congestion.
The service would be funded by riders and no taxpayer subsidy would be needed, Yaroslavsky said. The city’s Department of Transportation is studying the proposal.
