A traffic accident in a busy Beverly Hills intersection today left at least three people injured and a Rolls-Royce smashed on the front lawn of City Hall, officials said.
“Cars were going everywhere and one of them, a Rolls-Royce, ended up on the front lawn of City Hall,” Sgt. Richard Westfall said, adding that the luxury car first smashed into a sidewalk tree before coming to rest on the lawn.
The cause of the noon accident at the intersection of Burton Way and Crescent Drive was not immediately known, but Westfall said at least one of the drivers was apparently speeding.
At least three women received minor injuries, fire officials said.
The three women, two elderly and one a teen-ager, were taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where they were being treated for minor injuries, a hospital spokeswoman said.
