Commercial Suffering

Finally, irate movie fans have reported the booing of commercials being shown at Cineplex theaters.
I had the audience ready to storm the screen at a 5 p.m. “Princess Bride” showing at the Showcase on La Brea.
There was only one other person in the audience at a 5 p.m. “Hellraiser” show at the Purple Pizza Palace, but we hissed and booed in satisfying unity though separated by five rows.
Despite what the Cineplex people say their audience surveys show, a Diet Coke commercial with penguins and the Pointer Sisters is, by definition, not an artistic event.
