MALAGA, Spain — A 56-year-old Spanish woman from a low-income suburb of Malaga won a record $7.6 million in this week’s lottery draw, the state lottery department said on Saturday.
The draw was made on Thursday, but winner Ana Cerezo was not identified immediately as she disappeared on hearing she had the lucky combination of numbers. Cerezo, who is unmarried, has been sharing a humble apartment with five relatives and paid the equivalent of $3 a month rent.
