THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES : OCC Women Win State Cross-Country Meet

Orange Coast College placed four runners among the top 25 to win the women’s cross-country state championship Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno. The Pirates edged MiraCosta, 62-68, to win their fourth title in eight years.
Tracy Wright was Orange Coast’s top finisher, placing ninth with a time of 18 minutes 5 seconds. Debbie Lies finished 19th (18:55), Loi Curl 22nd (18:58) and Delinda Patino 24th (19:04).
In men’s competition, Rancho Santiago finished sixth in the team standings with 147 points. Jim Sorensen was the Dons’ top runner, placing 17th with a time of 20:04.
