Housewife, Factory Worker Split $13-Million Prize

SACRAMENTO — An El Dorado County housewife and a Bay Area factory worker will split a $13.2-million jackpot in the Lotto 6/49 game, a California Lottery official said Monday.

Chris Kammerer, 47, of Cameron Park, and Antonia Martinez, 31, a Litton Industries worker from Redwood City, submitted their tickets to lottery headquarters as winners in the Saturday night drawing, spokesman John Schade said.

Each won $6.7 million and will receive after-tax payments of $269,000 annually for 20 years, Schade said.

Kammerer said she and her husband, Fred, 51, learned of their good fortune while watching the Lotto drawing on television Saturday night.

“I almost had a heart attack,” Kammerer, the mother of three grown children, told a reporter.

The Winery Plaza Market in Cameron Park, where she bought her ticket, and the Whipple Avenue Shell station in Redwood City, which sold one to Martinez, each will receive $33,700, Schade said.

Also, three people split a pool of $1.3 million by getting five of the six numbers right as well as the bonus digit. Those tickets were worth $454,298 each.
