San Lorenzo High School officials rescinded a controversial ban on T-shirts and other clothing articles that advertised beer because of fears of costly legal battles. “The law is open-ended and gray instead of black and white,” Principal Joanne Knowles told school trustees. “I sincerely believe that the matter will eventually go to the courts, particularly in light of the statements made on the floor of Congress condemning the exploitation of minors by the advertising agencies,” she added.
