Wimbish and Davis Lead No. 2 Texas to a 79-62 Victory Over USC Women

AUSTIN, Tex. — Yulonda Wimbish and Clarissa Davis scored 45 points between them to lead the No. 2-ranked Texas women’s basketball team to a 79-62 victory over USC Thursday night.
Wimbish finished with a game-high 25 points, followed by Davis with 20.
Paula Pyers led the Trojans (0-1) with 17 points.
USC, ranked No. 13, stayed close for five minutes. With the score 8-8, Texas went on a 10-0 spurt and led, 18-8, with 14:01 left in the first half.
The Longhorns (4-0) surged with eight straight points early in the second half, giving them their biggest lead of the game, 58-40, with 14:25 left.
