The National Abortion Rights Action League is $1.1 million richer after auctioning “Portrait de Madame Survage,” a 1918 oil painting by Italian modernist Modigliani, the organization announced Monday. The painting, a gift by an anonymous donor, would have been too expensive to insure, a spokeswoman for the abortion rights group said.
