Pasadena : Hotel Open During Work

The Huntington Hotel will remain open during the demolition and reconstruction of its main building and will be operated by R & R Hospitality Group until 1990.
After the closing of escrow on Tuesday, when ownership of the hotel transferred from Keikyu U. S. A. Inc. to the Huntington Hotel Associates, R & R Hospitality Group assumed management from Sheraton Hotels Corp.
R & R will manage the hotel under its new name, Huntington Hotel and Cottages, until 1990 when construction of the new building is expected to be complete and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. will take over management. The hotel then will be renamed the Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel.
R & R, a year-old hotel consultant company, was chosen because one of the principals is a former Sheraton executive who can make the management change smoother, said Lary Mielke, one of the new owners of the hotel.
