A special law enforcement hot line and mailbox have been established to receive reports of crime in the Vietnamese community, Garden Grove police said.
The telephone-activated recorded message system was installed at the Police Department’s Bolsa Mini Mall station to take calls about illegal activities when that station is not occupied, Lt. Scott Hamilton said.
Police said they hope that the hot line and post office box will encourage people to tip them about crimes such as robbery, burglary, extortion and fraud around the clock.
Residents can offer tips in Vietnamese and do not have to provide their names or addresses, officials said.
The police hot line is (714) 775-2762.
Reports are also accepted by mailing to the Garden Grove Police Department, Bolsa Mini Mall Office, P.O. Box 1381, Garden Grove, Calif. 92642.
