Lakers Start Over Against Suns Tonight

PHOENIX — Lakers, who went into a tailspin after their season-opening eight-game winning streak, play the Suns here tonight in their first game since the Clippers ended their 15-game streak Wednesday night.
The Lakers are not in the best of shape. Three players--James Worthy, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar--did not practice Friday because of a variety of ailments. Worthy sat out because of tendinitis in his left knee; Johnson had a sore right knee, and Abdul-Jabbar was bothered by a sore right hamstring. All are expected to play tonight, however.
The Lakers went 3-6 after their season-opening streak.
